Roller Skate and Protective Equipment Hire Agreement & Terms and Conditions
1. Placing an order
1.1 The customer should complete the “Roller Skate Hire Equipment Check in/ out Form” in order to notify TJ’s of their requirements
1.2 The hirer must complete the “Roller Skate Hire Equipment Check in/ out Form” within 7 days of placing the order or within 7 days of the event start date, whichever is soonest
1.3 If the form is not completed within the time specified above, the order will be cancelled and refunded.
1.4 TJ’s will confirm the order (i.e. the availability of skates and the pickup/drop off time and location within 2 working days of receiving the form.)
2. The Hirer
2.1. The Hirer must be over the age of 18.
2.2. The Hirer is responsible for the roller skates and protective equipment hired and it is the Hirer’s responsibility to keep the items hired safe from damage, loss or theft, use it in a proper manner and not subject it to any misuse or unfair wear and tear.
2.3. The Hirer will not transfer or subcontract the roller skates and protective equipment to another party.
2.4. The roller skates and protective equipment remains the property of TJ’s at all times and the Hirer shall have no right, title or interest in the roller skates and protective equipment.
2.5 The Hirer is responsible for ensuring that they have the relevant insurances and licences for usage of the hired items by themselves or their participants
2.6 The Hirer agrees that TJ’s are entirely free from liability, including financial responsibility from injuries incurred, regardless of how injuries are caused whilst using the hired items.
3. Hiring and returning the roller skates and protective equipment
3.1. Pick up and returns will be organised between TJ’s and the customer.
3.2 Pick up and Drop off is available from a location, to be agreed at time of booking.
3.3 Full payment of the hire fee and deposit is required at time of booking.
3.4. A refundable deposit of £50
3.5 The deposit will be refunded to the same payment method as purchase once the roller skates and protective equipment is returned, and a member of TJ’s staff is satisfied the roller skates and protective equipment is in the same condition as when it was lent out to the Hirer.
3.6 Depending on the skate drop off time, it may not be possible to process the deposit immediately. TJ’s will process the deposit within 2 working days of receiving the skates and equipment back into our stock.
3.7 The Hirer must return the roller skates and protective equipment in the condition it was lent out or be subject to pay for any damage. Any damage caused by neglect is the Hirer’s responsibility and will be charged for. Any damage is charged at the following rates and will be deducted from the deposit.
Lost skate(s) - pair £45 per pair
Lost protective wrist pad £7 per pair
Lost toe stop £5
Damage to roller skate upper eg. Scratches, scuffs (that cannot be cleaned off) £15 per skate
Broken lace £4 per lace
4. If the roller skates and protective equipment is lost or stolen
4.1. If the roller skates and protective equipment are stolen, the Hirer is responsible for reporting the incident to the Police within 24 hours, and a crime reference number must be provided by the Hirer to TJ’S, within 24 hours via phone or email.
4.2. If the roller skates and protective equipment are lost or stolen, an excess of £45 per pair of skates and/or £7 per set of protective wrist guards to be paid.
4.3 TJ’s strongly recommends you have suitable insurance to cover lost or stolen equipment.
5. Using the roller skates and protective equipment
5.1. When using the roller skates and protective equipment, the Hirer must ensure users of the hired items, skate in a responsible and safe manner.
5.2. If TJ’s is made aware of any antisocial behaviour whilst using the roller skates and protective equipment, the roller skates and protective equipment will be recalled immediately, the roller skates and protective equipment hire terminated, and the Hirer will be excluded from hiring roller skates and protective equipment from TJ’s in the future.
6. Cancelling the hire agreement
6.1 Cancellation of this agreement must be made in writing to info@tjsrollerskating.co.uk
6.2 A full refund of deposit and hire fee will be issued, as long as the cancellation is made before 7 days (168 hrs) of the event start date.
6.3 If 7 days notice of the cancellation cannot be made,100% of the deposit will be refunded.
